Where do I start? Zero character development. Barely likeable characters. Okay, even if you fling good writing concepts out the window there are still lines that are ridiculous. Someone from the Midwest that is unfamiliar with heat\humidity? Nope, not a realistic concept. A thoroughbred Broncos? Hmmmm. No. Possible....but not probable. Yuck. This whole story is a mess. Glad that this was on kindle unlimited. I can't imagine paying for this travesty. Lol....and ending the story with "fin"..... like tossing in some "sophistication" at the last moment is going to save this situation.Product details

Edward by Becca Fanning is a very brief story. I really liked the female bull rider, issues of getting sponsorship and the descriptions of a bull ride and the rodeo living quarters. The story line was a bit choppy and the discussion of Dakota's reason for being on the run rather incomplete and confusing. I found myself wanting more details throughout the story.
This story has a few things that most of my shifter stories don’t—bears who ride and compete in rodeos and that shifters aren’t a secret or in hiding for the most part in this series. I’ve read all of the stories in this series and while they are slightly longer than other stories that I’ve read by this author, I found them more enjoyable and complete. There’s an underlying, sinister anti-shifter storyline that arches across all of the stories combined with how each couple met or got together.
How to describe this read...well it started off well. Then it just went down hill. It to me didn't have the WOW, the oh my YES, the drama, the love, the redemption. Even when the secret came out it was so anti-climatic. Over all , I wouldn't read the other's in the series.

Dakota is on the run from the law and settles on Texas to get lost in. She meets Edward, a drunken Cowboy bear shifter, at the Rodeo when he knocks her down. She knows he's a shifter when she looks in his eyes. Edward has his own problems. Girey is after Edward for the money he owes him. This is a fast paced, action adventure with suspense, secrets, and of course, love with an HEA ending. My only complaint is that it was too short. Looking forward to next book in series. Dakota Blair was on the run and ended up in Texas where she rented a room from Brianna Jackson a bull rider. Brianna pulled Dakota into the Rodeo life. At the Rodeo she meet Edward who knocked her off her feet by Edward. He was drunk at the time and she wasn't impressed by him or his playboy style.
Edward was impressed guess you can't stop a cowboy on a mission to get what he wants and he wants Dakota.
I am not normally a cowboy fan but I might be changing mind lol. I ready loved this one lots of action, drama and spice. I can't wait to see what else the other has planned with the series
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this interesting and intriguing book. The story is about a woman (Dakota Blair) who is on the run and although she has money and ID, she would use neither as she wanted nobody to know where she was. Edward (aka Eddie) Tyrell, one of three brothers (Holden and Colby) notices Dakota and is very interested in her. What you will find in this story is drama, intrigue, a bit of humor, a woman on the run, bear shifters, shown an apartment, privately owned (by Brianna), no papers required, going to rodeo, a bull rider, Owen Hutch a bear shifter, drinking, sarcasm, talking, disqualified, retaliation, stampede of pigs, arena, a date with Eddie, a call, fugitive, armed robbery, explanations, disbelief, driving away, coming back, a baddie (Girey) and his thugs, Eddie unconscious, ramming truck into van, barely conscious, a roar, a grizzle, fighting, a gun, another grizzle (Colby), injured, no hospital, rodeo medic, not going to be arrested, declaration of love, part of family, will be safe, no more running, love, lust and a erotic scene. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, the pace was steady and not rushed. The bonus stories are also well written. The characters have personality with emotional feelings of fear, needs and desires. I would recommend this book to people that like to read a well written shifter story with a happy ending.
I enjoyed the book but just felt that the story could have been filled out a bit more. Still lost as to why Dakota was on the run and hiding out in Texas! It just meant I didn't quite grasp the urgency of her situation.
Eddie did NOT paint himself well when we first meet him. He is childish and irresponsible but by the end of the book he was happy to take care of Dakota. I just wanted a bit background into his change of heart - there was no instant declaration of love/lust or mate so I was just left a bit at sea. Also a bit adrift when it comes to why he and the clan are outlaws? Shifters seem to be known about although not well integrated so I'm hoping that will be explained a bit more in future books.
